Does anyone know how to get pregnant naturally with no fertility drugs?

September 4, 2009 - 8:20 pm 11 Comments

My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for four years. I have two children already, born a year and one month apart. I would like to have more children but do not really want to have to use fertility drugs. Does anyone know how to get pregnant naturally with either herbal, or natural methods? Thank you very much for any advice or answers given.

Vitex Chasteberry is an herbal supplement that is used to help balance your hormones, help with fertility, and relieve PMS and Menopause symptoms. There are many websites that you can google, here’s one.

Also, Evening Primrose Oil has helped people as well.

Another suggestion may seem odd but it did work for a friend of mine trying to conceive. She used the Instead cups that are intended for use during your period. She would place one in after sex, her and her husband had sex every other day for the week of ovulation, and she would put a cup in immediately after before she stood up. She left it there for a few hours, then would take it out. This keeps the sperm at the cervix, she conceived the first month trying this method after 6 months of trying. It may have been a coincidence but it’s worth a try.

I was wondering if anyone has ever tried any natural or herbal treatments for fertility?

September 4, 2009 - 8:20 pm 2 Comments

I was reading about different natural treatments to help fertility, and this herb came up called vitex or chasteberry, I was wondering if any one has ever used it? Are there any side effects? and how effective is it? Its suppose to bring back the menstral cycle to normal and induce ovulation, from what i’ve read, is it all true?

OMG I can’t believe I forgot about that, yes I was on Vitex & False Unicorn Root (F.U.R) when ttc #1 only took it for 2 months before ttc though as I read somewhere that pregnant women and lactating women should avoid it, so I thought well that can’t be good when ttc what if you do conceive and don’t find out till later on, so I stopped the vitex, but stayed on the F.U.R

FALSE UNICORN ROOT (Chamaelirium luteum)
False unicorn root may help to normalise ovarian function when female infertility is associated with erratic ovulation.

and after 3 months on the F.U.R and metformin, 2 months on Vitex and 1 month on clomid, we started ttc, well approx a month later found out I was 5wks pg. So we were successful on our first try. our daughter is now 5yrs old.

Good luck to you and hope you get a BFP real soon.
and thankyou I’m going to the health food shop today to get me some F.U.R now..lol…

Has anyone used the natural fertility herb FertilPlus and gotten pregnant from it?

August 17, 2009 - 5:47 pm 2 Comments

I didn’t use FertilPlus, however I did use Vitex Agnus Castus which I believe is an ingredient in FertilPlus. When I came off the pill after five years, I wasn’t ovulating (according to OPKs), so right after my second period off the pill I picked up a bottle of Vitex at GNC (around $10 with tax), used it for three weeks, caught my ovulation day using my OPKs, and got a positive pregnancy test.

If I were you, I would just buy a bottle of Vitex at your local drugstore; you don’t need to order anything off a website. Most of the high priced fertility herbs like FertilPlus or FertilAid all have Vitex as their main ingredient anyway.

Good luck!

Has anyone taken fertility herbs to get pregnant?

August 17, 2009 - 5:46 pm 4 Comments

What are you taking phat p? and please let me know what happens

A good natural herb to take is Vitex Agnus Castus. It is great for infertility, and gets your hormones back on track. I took this for one cycle and got pregnant straight away! I recommend it to anyone who is trying to conceive. You can buy it at most healthfood shops, and there are a few different brands, but I think the Blackmore’s brand is the best.

How should I take fertility herbs?

July 31, 2009 - 9:17 pm 1 Comment

I have been waiting a baby for a while now. After some research, I purchased vitex, dong quai, red clover, licorice, and black cohosh. I don’t know how I should take them. I don’t ovulate. I usu have 1 period every 90days and the period lasts for 45 days. The advice that I found is based on ovulation. Any advice???

first some herbs can be very dangerous to baby development or even preterm labor (black and blue cohosh).

i tried for 6 years to have a baby, had a few miscarriages, and decided to take herbs for 6 months. i took most of what you listed plus a rasberry leaf tea 3x’s a day(it gets the oven ready for baking and safe threw preg so you dont mis carry), the other berbs the recommended dose, everyday, until my periods were normal (every 27 days). i continued for 1 more month to make sure my body was ready.

also during that time i took prenatal and extra folic acid. i put myself on a diet of mostly dark green veggies (a lot at every meal) and plain old water, since caff is bad for baby. once i was ready to try and get preg i stopped all herbs as they are dangerous and 42 weeks later little james was born.
